Kindergarten through 3rd graders participated in the district Amira challenge for elementary schools. The Amira challenge was in conjunction with the District Initiative to improve Reading Foundational progress for students using artificial intelligence to provide individualized instruction on reading foundational skills.  Tara Elementary Kindergarten through 3rd graders were the overall winners for the district with Amira usage.  We even had the student that displayed the most growth for the district in 2nd grade.

The students and staff were more intentional with using the program. The students took the challenge seriously and boosted their reading.  They took pride in knowing that they were competing with other students.

Cheerleaders Get Runner Up

Congratulations to our Tara Elementary Cheerleaders for getting Runner Up at the 2023-2024 Cheerleading competition.  Under the direction of Mrs. Smith and Ms. Wooten, these amazing girls rose to high expectations and represented Tara Elementary well!

Reader's Tea

To promote the love of literacy, Tara Elementary hosts an annual reader’s tea.  Each year Tara Elementary honors the top two readers in each classroom. At the tea, the grade-level winners are able to share their favorite books on stage. All the readers take a pledge to continue to read.  Students are encouraged to dress in their Sunday best.  This often includes hats, fascinators, dresses or suits for the boys and girls.   Parents are invited to attend.  Students are served light refreshments with tea.
